Events Volunteer (Golf Day volunteers needed! 4th September 2025)

We need volunteers to help on Mencap NI's 60th Anniversary Golf Day. You can help raise money for Mencap Northern Ireland, by getting involved in a fun day with local sporting celebrities, golf and games. To help make the the lives of people with a learning disability happier and healthier.

We need volunteers to support on the day. The tee-off is at 2pm, so you will be required to be there from around 12.30. But any time you can give is greatly appreciated. This can include course set-up, preparing the course and the signage; registering attendees and sponsors; assembling and giving out goodie bags; helping with prize giving for winners of the golf games; communicating with golfers and being a friendly face to support or provide information on the day.

We are looking for people who are friendly and approachable, able to take instructions, reliable and patient​, able to work as part of a team, and accepting of others who might be different to yourself​.

If you are a golf or sports fan this is the perfect event for you. Some benefits for you include that will you be at a golf course and the local celebrities will be in attendance. Celebrity Guests include: Liam Beckett MBE, U105's Denise Watson, World Champion Boxer Brian Magee, Footballing legend Keith Gillespie, Olympian Boxer Paddy Barnes and Snooker's Joe Swail.

  • Willing to volunteer within guidelines and to take direction where necessary

As a Mencap volunteer you will:

  • Make new friends
  • Receive agreed out of pocket expenses in line with our policy e.g. travel
  • Receive a full volunteer briefing and training on the day
  • Volunteer alongside our experienced
  • Have a chance to give back your local community
