Activity Support Volunteer (Me Time - Denton - Podcasting, Creativity, Storytelling & Technology)

Are you passionate about creativity, storytelling, and making a difference? We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to work alongside the people we support on an exciting podcast project!
Our Me Time service provides local people with a learning disability the chance to learn through activities to have fun, and make new friends.
Our group has already launched the Mencap Me Time podcast after some fantastic training with All.FM, and now we’re looking to keep the momentum going. Through regular sessions at Me Time in Denton, we aim to create new episodes that give people with learning disabilities a platform to share their voices and experiences—and for others to truly listen.
If you have skills in technology that could support this project that would be great! As the sessions progress we are looking to learn more about editing and the different technological aspects of podcast development.
This isn’t just about having fun (though it will be!)—it’s about empowering people, raising awareness, and amplifying voices that deserve to be heard.
When do I need to be available? The role is flexible, if you can only give us a few hours a week or a month we would really appreciate it. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
As an activity support volunteer, you will need to provide us with two references and a DBS. If you are a student your tutor can be one of your references. By volunteering with us you will be helping local people with a learning disability have fun, learn new skills through activities, and you will be making a huge difference!
