Hero Project Youth Team Volunteer (based in Derry/Londonderry)
We are looking for enthusiastic, passionate and friendly volunteers, who have an interest in supporting young people, specifically those with a learning disability.
Volunteers’ ideal commitment is 3 to 4 hours one evening per month, for a youth night, which is based in the city centre.
As a volunteer you will support young people from 14 – 24 years old. This could be 1:1 engagement with or facilitating a group activity with support from the Youth team. We welcome anyone who wants to improve the lives of people with a learning disability in Northern Ireland.
The Mencap Youth Team delivers projects and social activities for Young People across Northern Ireland. We support young people to gain new skills, develop confidence and help with building relationships.
About Mencap Mencap is the leading learning disability charity in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We work with people with a learning disability and their families to challenge prejudice and change laws, and we directly support thousands of people to live their lives as they choose.
We have an ambitious vision for the UK to be the best place in the world for people with a learning disability to live happy and healthy lives.
Volunteering with us is YOUR opportunity to help us achieve this, whilst having the chance to develop your skills, meet new people and join a passionate and dedicated team.
